Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Bob graduated from Cal State University of Northridge with a B.A. in Political Science. He was drafted by the California Angels but gave up baseball to pursue further education. He holds a M.A. in history from Cal State University of Fullerton. He also received a M. Div. (Master of Divinity) – Theology from Talbot Theological Seminary. Additionally, he holds a D. Min. (Doctor of Ministry) from Regent College. He is currently the Campus Minister at the Campus Christian Community at UMW. He is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. For the past twenty years he has led groups of students to various parts of the world believing that these trips have a huge impact on who we become.
Shawn Humphrey is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Mary Washington. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Two Dollar Challenge and La Ceiba. He earned a BA in Economics from Earlham College, a MA in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a PhD in Economics from Washington University in Saint Louis.
Amanda serves as Student Director, leading the SHH Student Board for the 2010-2011 academic year. She is a Junior at Towson University in Maryland and majors in Family Studies and Community Development with a focus in Non-Profit Leadership. After volunteering in Honduras for the first time in January, she co-founded the Towson University chapter of SHH and now serves as Co-President. Before working with SHH, Amanda served as the President for the Towson chapter of Circle-K International and currently serves on the executive board of American Humanics at Towson. Amanda is working towards a career in international development and is grateful to start that journey with SHH. In her spare time she loves to read, play sports and be crafty with her roommates!
